Vantage Apparel Invests in Team Development Through Company-Wide Professional Training Initiative

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AVENEL, NJ — August 10, 2026

The initiative not only strengthened professional skills but also created new opportunities for employees across departments and locations to collaborate, learn from one another, and build stronger working relationships.

"The Team Leadership Foundations course reinforced the importance of collaboration, trust and leading with purpose," said Tom Minnick, Senior National Accounts Manager. "Learning alongside colleagues from different departments gave me a broader perspective of our business and strengthened relationships that will help us work together more effectively for our customers."

In partnership with Middlesex College's Professional Development Series and sponsored through the New Jersey Workplace Training Program (NJBIA), Vantage team members participated in more than 100 hours of instructor-led training designed to strengthen workplace communication, leadership, problem solving, and professional effectiveness. The training reached team members across nearly every area of the organization; from production and customer service to sales and merchandising.

"Our employees are the foundation of everything we do," said Miguelina Diaz, Director of Human Resources at Vantage Apparel. "Providing opportunities for continuous learning not only helps individuals grow professionally, but it also strengthens our teams and empowers a better experience for our customers.”

For many participants, the training also provided a deeper understanding of how every department contributes to the customer experience.

"The professional development courses sharpened my communication skills while giving me greater insight into how other departments support our customers," said Sandi Powell, Office Manager, Vantage St. Louis. "That broader understanding helps me be a better resource for both my teammates and the customers we serve."

The customized curriculum combined practical workplace skills with leadership development, helping team members enhance communication, improve productivity, navigate workplace challenges, and strengthen cross-department relationships. It’s part of Vantage Apparel's ongoing commitment to team member development, operational excellence, and creating an environment where learning and continuous improvement are part of the company's culture.

As team leaders returned to their departments, many began putting the lessons into practice immediately.

"The training challenged us to think differently about how we communicate, coach and solve problems," said Anu Mathew, Digital Customer Service Team Lead. "I've already been able to apply many of the techniques with my team, and it's strengthened both our collaboration and our focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience."

Vantage's team-first philosophy has earned the company multiple years of recognition as one of the promotional products industry's Best Places to Work by both PPAI and ASI, honors that recognize organizations committed to exceptional workplace culture, team engagement, and professional development.

"Awards recognizing Vantage as one of the industry's Best Places to Work are something we're incredibly proud of, but they don't happen by accident," said Rob Watson, Chief Executive Officer of Vantage Apparel. "They come from intentionally investing in our people and giving our team a fun, creative environment to grow and share new ideas.”
